I am scheduled for cataract surgery on my left eye tomorrow.

  1. Good luck. I hope it goes as well as the first time.

The doctor did not gasp in dismay after he finished. He bandaged my eye and sent me home. Today I will return, he will take off the bandage, and tell me how things seem to have turned out.

Until I get new prescription glasses, which will take about a month, I am too near-sighted now to read a book or a computer screen. (At the moment, I am typing blindly, so I may be saying any kind of crazy thing.) I will buy some cheap reading glasses and some cheap sun glasses today in the hope it will get me through the month before I get new prescription glasses.

Judging by my right eye, I can see better at a distance than I ever have in my life, though I will still need glasses for distance viewing, but they won’t be as thick as the ones I had.

So I guess you won’t be reading the book I recommended to you any time soon! I hope you do though, as the guy’s sense of humor is much like yours. If you do read it (The Gold Coast, by Nelson Demille) you MUST read the sequel, The Gate House, as the story coninues on.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

    Pete,

The bandage has been removed from my eyes. I can see with both eyes, and they seem to be able to focus together.

I purchased some cheap non-prescription “reading glasses” from Fred Meyer and can see well enough to read a book or type on my computer until I get my new presciption filled.

I have put a hold on The Gold Coast at the local library and will read it and report back to you by the end of the month.

  5. Yeah, I’m glad you’re doing ok, and I hope your eyes continue to heal.
